The beauty that you seem to have
appears to be skin-deep,
From your billboard styled pearly-whites
To the shoes upon your feet.

You can smile for the camara
You can cry on any cue,
You can flip your shiny pageboy
Dyed in blondes of every hue.

But you just don't seem to understand
The price that others pay
For the way you choose to live your life

Because that woman on the corner
can't afford to pay her rent,
Somebody killed an animal
For you to wear to an event.

A child in a hospital
has cancer of the lung,
The operation's just too much
He'll never be someone.

That girl in eastern africa
Wont live another day
The famine and starvation
Will watch her waste away.

The poverty and longing
Of a world so beat and torn
Is lost amongst the masses
Of people money-born.

So close you eyes and turn your head
And bask in all your welth
Someday you will have relized
You could fix it all yourself.
