To see the ones we love in so much pain is one of the most difficult things that life throws at us...far worst then even there actual departing. I hope your father finds peace soon and that you will always remember how much he loves you.

Oh dear Bernice, this is such a tender poem. I know all about pain, I see so much in my Reiki Energy work, that it is heartbreaking. I don't understand why people have to suffer so much. I don't think you dad will be around too much longer, I felt his energy through your poem, and he is ready to go onto the next life. He needs to know that you are going to be all right, and he will be fine. Pain is a memory, stored, so if too much pain is happening, then the memory of such pain is vivid and it makes it magnified. He is so ready to not be in pain any longer. You must be strong my dear, and do not give up, because his spirit will always be with you no matter what, and that is the blessing of life.
