there was no moon
the day I came through
and the sky was overcast
the white sands were blowing
off in the distance
I pondered my exposure.
I sat on a bluff
out near Three Rivers
to clarify motive and intention
could I be compassion
a wholeness design
where love for all life resides?
I thought of art
painted oils of desert landscape
I thought of the indigenous ancients
I felt the wind dusting
serenity upon my soul
there is a wild spirit
free and soaring and
alive and running across
the desert connection
yes… infinity weaved awareness
so beautiful and raw
the seasonal spring of Mesa Verde
and tumbleweeds perhaps
held the harvest of bad thoughts
I thought of calm
gentled heart of grander design
I thought of the celestial possibility
I felt the arid atmosphere
curiosity upon creation
could I be the change
a wholeness design
would this landscape alter my life
more importantly my heart
there was no moon
the day I came through
bringing sense of new beginnings
my heart was ready
my soul aligned
compassion a purpose
and love its spiraled design
