flat on my back allowing relief
from the muscle i tweaked recently
a crystal hangs in the side window
reflecting colors input by the sun
i stare at the ceiling and around the room
thinking the concept is simple
and the output is so very beautiful
i attempt to move but wince instead
wondering the purpose of this pain
forced to rest, forced to relax
by powers greater than human
i forget sometimes i volunteered
enlisted myself to experience the earth
a programmed illusion to gather data
a mission imbedded to warrior for light
a soul vacation, they made it sound easy
pretty post cards and physical delights
i'm thinking play, their thinking work
did they tell me, because i don’t remember
i’d have to battle the dark
the pain in my back is no physical delight
the sorrow, and grieving, and fears, and worry
surrounding the world casting shadows
that i must learn to overcome
father sun moves across the window
and lays down to sleep with me
he reminds me again of the colors of light
in forests and flowers, the animals and minerals
all the elements of fire, air, water, and earth
lady earth herself a living thing
providing beauty to ease the pain
the day progresses and now the sun sets
the stars peer the window twinkling the night
i am looking into another dimension
past, present, and future
yet all exist at the same time
without gravity i'm weightless in space
memories of home not of the earth
where eternal existence is truly peace
she takes my body and bends it back
over the dipper i hear a snap
and an electric pulse wakes me up
it is morning again i yawn and stretch
slow at first then letting loose an animal sound
i can move again, thinking of cartwheels across the floor
but i should probably pace myself,
retrieve my smile off the night table..
come on honey, lets go to disneyland
