understand the journey home
it's filled with lives and memories
everything that crossed your path
were blessings to pave the way

there are many ages upon the planet
young and old and in between
and I'm not talking about your body
but how many lifetimes you've lived

the older ones seek spirit ways
the younger ones seek adventure
the ones in between are often confused
for their still learning the way

me and you,
we've been here a very long time
and our experience comes
at an accelerated pace

for every moment we have a choice
to learn the way to an advanced life form
or allow our ego and pride to reign
and wallow in human decay

as for me, I'm going home
I knew it before I was born
this life would be one hell of a ride
and I would suffer much

it took some time to realize
and I still stumble and fall
for the ego is a prideful power
and its hard to see the other

but faith and hope and loving grace
have given me strength to know
tolerance and patience and kindness
are more of strength than a weakness
