Overwhelming grief I feel in my heart
Holds all the precious memories of you
All the yesterdays dance amid the tears
Embracing my heart as a warm summer breeze
Without the memories I would have no grief
My heart breaks for you
Longs for your embrace
Yearns for your tender touch
My arms ache to embrace your warmth
The grief would not be here
If I had never known you
But knowing you was loving you
My ears echo the sounds of your laughter
Your voice
Time was always our friend
Running with time as if with the wind
Never ending love and sharing
Dancing and running
Through the fields in my mind
Wheat waving with the rhythm of your heart
Missing you like the day misses the sun
Without you in my life
The night without the stars
Not a moment goes by without thoughts of you
And the longing continues day to day
Holding my heart close to you
The pain of grief haunts my nights
As I cry upon my pillow
Longing to speak with you
And hear your sweet voice
Then as sleep softly drifts into the night
As a fog dimming the sharpness
If this pain were not here
Then...how could I have known you
My grief is an extension of the love I have known
Because of you
