This story is a combination of all my recurring dreams and dreams, and FICTIONAL stories.
... continuing from Chapter 2... I must leave Daddy in heaven now to visit the next graffiti on the wall. This next painting seems life-like as well. Yet, instead of happiness I’m feeling pain and sadness. I hear voices of people screaming in pain. People are suffering. Now, that good feeling I felt from the first painting is completely gone!
I look into this second painting on the wall, and immediately I’m overwhelmed by its darkness! I feel a rush of cold air rush over my entire body. Where am I?
I try opening my eyes but cannot see anything in front of me. All that I am aware of is that I’m driving, I’m driving on a straight road that has no street lights. This road is L-O-N-G! I cannot see ahead. It seems to be stretching over into something - like an eternity of darkness, and I’m alone in this car, and it’s the only car on the road.
I don’t remember getting into my car, I don’t remember anything, or why am I here, or how and when had I even begun this journey.
Suddenly, my rear-view mirror confirms to me there is another car behind me. Oh great! At least I’m not alone on this road! It just gets lonely after a while. I feel like I have been driving for a long time. Since when? I don’t really know. All I know is that I’m still driving, and I haven’t the slightest idea where I’m heading.
BASTARD! That bastard behind me has just rear-ended me! What the hell is wrong with him?! THERE! He is doing it again!... and again!
You bastard! You just wait ‘til I get you! Is this some kind of game? I'm mad now.
I slow down and move to the side so this insane person can pass through. I look into the rear-view mirror, and the car is GONE! That’s strange! What is this? Am I starting to imagining things now?
I’ve just seen that car a while back, but now it is GONE! Honestly, I could have sworn it was there behind me. It has even rear-ended me. I have an urge to get out to look at my car, but my heart says “no!”
Not now! I must restrain myself from getting out of the car. I’m really tired! I need to find a place real fast! A place with people in it - a motel, or gas station, or somewhere with people in it would be a welcoming sight to me right now.
Suddenly, something hit the right side of my car, making it jerk to the left side of the road. My car is now heading straight towards a tree! That idiot is sideswiping my car!
I look at the car and its driver. It’s a red convertible sports car, and there’s a young guy on the steering wheel. Damn those young people! They really bug the life out of me!
He has dark curly long hair, now being blown backward by the wind. It seems to me he has been drinking, as I can see a crazed glassy look in his eyes.
He laughs loudly, sticks out and flaps his tongue to taunt me. He wears a blue and red striped tank top that smells of beer and alcohol.
My God!!! Why can’t this idiot stay home? Why do I have to run into idiots like this whenever I'm on the road? I quickly swerve to the right so I won’t have to hit that big tree.
What’s your problem? Are you insane? The road is clear, and there’s plenty of room for you to drive past me!!! You idiot!! I slow down to halt and scolded him inside my head.
Perhaps I should just let this idiot go ahead and drive off.
UNBELIEVABLE!!! Now... that insane guy is about 200 ft. or so ahead of me, but yet, he is just sitting there and not moving. I think he is there, waiting for me!
This is like a waiting game. I’m here, and he’s over there. Neither of us is starting our car. I have been waiting here in what seems like an eternity, but nothing is happening.
Well, one of us has to go, I can't wait here forever.
I start my engine once again and proceed onward. Now I can hear him starting his engine as well.
This is nuts! What kind of a game is he playing?
I proceed with caution, slowly. I can hear his engine grumble, but he’s not doing anything, or going anywhere. My heart is racing, and I’m scared. I’m slowly driving next to him. Now, my foot steps on that gas pedal, and try to speed up pass him.
OH MY GOD!! I can’t believe it! He’s coming at me again!
*BANG!*
I can’t stop it! I’m hitting him right on the side! T-boning his car! Now I’m truly in trouble! He’s going to get out of his car and yell! I sit there helplessly, trying to find a way to escape. My heart is pounding, and my mind is racing, I just can’t do it, I don’t have time to deal with fools!
How? and what has just happened? Who has put me on this road to darkness? Who is this young guy? And why is he doing this to me? I don’t even know him! Oh, God! Please rescue me! I close my eyes and pray. Please, God! Rescue me!
Suddenly, I feel a serene calmness! Through my prayers and closed eyes, I can feel the atmosphere surrounding me is changing. I was expecting the young guy to get out of his car, or turn around to continue to taunt me, or to confront me, but instead, I don’t hear any noise or commotion at all.
I open my eyes, and strangely, I am in another place! I am in front of a little house just off the side of the road! I hear people! Yes, what a delight! People and noise! I’m hearing the sound of people now! I don’t care! I don’t care if this is someone’s house, a motel, or whatever! I’m so tired! I just need a place to rest to sleep like a baby! I need it... RIGHT NOW! I look around and cannot see the young guy and his car anymore. Oh good! I must have gotten rid of him already, somehow!
Don’t even ask me how or when, I’m just so happy now that he is gone! There seems to be a lot of noise coming from inside the house. I walk up to knock on its front door. The door is ajar, so I just let myself in. I can’t say I’m not surprised. What seems like a quiet little house off the side of the road is actually a little house jam-packed with people.
The room is filled with cigarettes smoke, the air is stale, and the smoke is burning my eyes! The place is dimly-lit, and yet, I can see the bar and the bartender at a distance. Suddenly, I’m feeling extremely thirsty. My mouth is almost completely dried. I order a draft from the bartender.
“It’s on the house for newcomers,” he says.
“Oh really? Thanks a lot! I really need this!” I smile.
I gulp it down my throat as fast as it can pour in. I’m thirsty as hell!
At the corner of my eyes I notice some people, especially the men, have suddenly stopped what they have been doing, and watch me. I put the empty glass down, and the bartender quickly refills it with another draft. I suppose it is still free. He has not asked me to pay anything yet.
But the noise! Oh! I can’t stand all that noise! These people are making too much noise! It is getting to me now!
I hear people laughing, and yet through the laughter I can also hear people screaming. Oh those screams! It is as though some people are in pain! It is getting to my nerves. I can’t stand those screaming noise! I close my eyes and cover my ears. I need to get out of this place as fast as I can!
What is happening? I thought I have found the way back to the door where I have come in from and yet it is not there now. How can it be not there anymore? I'm feeling lost, struck with sudden fear. I hate being tricked, and I hate the unknown! How can a door be there one minute, and then be gone the next?
I walk to the other side of the room and there is another door. I open this door to find there is another room. In here, there are rows and rows of chairs. I am relieved! At least, this is a much quieter room! A well dressed man comes forward to greet me, he motions for me to sit down. There are many other people as well, they are all sitting there, heads down, quiet, as though they are anticipating something to happen.
There is a woman with her two children sitting next to me. One is a little boy, he seems no more than eight years old; the other, a little girl, is more like a six years old. I try looking for the woman's husband, but there’s no man around her.
What place is this? I wonder!
Oh NOW, I have seen everything!
Up the front of the room, I can see a person spinning something like a roulette.
A voice comes through the loudspeaker, and it has just called out this woman’s name. She walks with her two children up to the front where the roulette dealer is.
“Pick a number,” says the dealer.
The woman picks fifteen. The dealer spins the roulette, and the ball lands on twenty.
“Okay, you may now exit from door number 2.”
The woman with the two children walk over and she opens the door with the number "2" on it. As she opens the door I can see it is day time outside, the sun is shining brightly. Next to door number 2 is another door, and this one has the sign number 1 on it. Now that’s the door to go outside! I’m so happy to have found it now!
I walk up to door number 2, and try opening it to go outside, but am stopped by two security officers. They both hold each of my arms and escort me back to my seat.
“Ma’am, please wait ‘til your name is called, then you may choose your number to leave,” one of them says.
“I DON’T CARE FOR NUMBERS! I DON’T PLAY ROULETTE! I’M NOT A GAMBLER!” I scream at them at the top of my lungs. “I JUST WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS PLACE RIGHT NOW?”
They have just made me so mad. I just don't need it right now.
Just what kind of a place is this anyway? They can’t hold me prisoner here! I have not done anything wrong. I don’t belong in this place. Period. I don’t care for roulette, I'm not a gambler. This is the wrong place for me. I wish I had never set foot into this house. Now I must find my way out, fast!
Another person’s name has been called. This time the person chooses number twenty, and the ball lands on thirty.
“You may now exit through door number 1,” says the dealer.
The person opens door number 1 and walks out. I can’t take this anymore, I must get out of here! I dash over to the door where the man is holding and walk through.
Immediately, I’m gasping for air at the horrible sight that greets me!

When there is heaven, there must also be hell. The good and the evil. Great job in building the suspense of this story/poem.

This is incredibly captivating! It makes me glue to my seat as the events unfold in your story, always wanting to find out what's going to happen next. You have such a way in your storytelling to capture your readers. Well done!
Thanks Regis, Jane, and Mayyu, for your wonderful comments! Please know that these Dreamscapes and Fantsy stories I'm writing may vary in style as most are fictional stories although they may have been inspired by my dreams. When I write stories I DO NOT RESTRICT myself to genres, nor do i restrict myself to just writing for children. I enjoy writing just about anything! Whenever I write I'm the happiest. If people like what I have written, I'll be most happy about my work, and if some people don't like what I have written that is fine too. I don't restrict myself to just writing for children. A writer should be able to write just about anything that inspires them.
Yes May Yu, you are right about this chapter, I am trying to establish the feelings about going to hell. In the next chapter it is going to be about hell. But all these are fictional stories, I have never been in hell, nor do I ever think that I may go there. LOL!!! people should just read my stories/poetry as just the way they are - stories and poetry, and refrain themselves from thinking it's my life that I'm writing about. Regardless, whenever I'm inspired I just write, and there's nothing can stop me from writing!
Thanks once again for your beautiful and thoughtful comments!!

Scary, Sandie! Since you have described what heaven feels like in chapter 2, I'm assuming this one describes what it's like to be in hell. Very interesting dream! You left me pondering at the end what you may find behind door number 1. Can't wait for the next chapter. I'm glad your dreams inspire you to write these stories. Well-done!
Ah! How you travel from one life in one painting to another in the next as if you have been damned to exist forever within them........always knowing. Your genius is showing, dear friend.
Your dreams are incredible to inspire all of this tale, Sandie. I don't know where you get this from but then, dreams are like and endless spring of imagination, inspiration, born perhaps of this life and others. Thank you for sharing. Love, peace, continued inspiration, and best wishes from me.
Second in The Chronicles of Illúmaril series, author Gary Caplan's The Return of the Ancient Ones is a distinct tale that illustrates how one's fiercest enemy can become one's most aggressive ally.
