After I had played a prank on a lady I supervised, she pointed her finger at me and said in jest (I hope). "You men are no good!" This poem resulted.
We men ain't no good, The ladies, they tell me so. We hang around our women, Just to cause them such woe. We spend all their money, And leave them so poor. We take their respect, Then sneak out the door. We be the men, Don't care a bit. Get all we can, Come home and sit. We stay out all night, And come in so drunk. We tell lots of lies, And offer them junk. We take all we can, Because of their love. They wish we would change, Ask help from above. We be the men, Don't care a bit. Get all we can, Come home and sit. Their lesson, they learn, They fin'lly throw us out. The lawyer, he sticks us, And leaves us there to pout. Now we live alone, Because we were so bad. They don't need us now, It leaves us all so sad. We be the men, Don't know a thing. Lost all we had, No longer the king. 3.11.93 Copyright 2007
