A quiver, electricity
Went through me as
He kissed my virgin lips
Young love can be so
Beautiful, than leave you
In such pain
We started dating, two teens so
Much in love, our feelings
Reached soaring heights, no
longer just good friends.
But young love doesn’t last long
And when he said he must leave,
I told him through salty tears
he was just plain wrong.
We didn’t know it then, but
soon this would be the beginning
of a brand new love song.
For two years, we never talked,
He had hurt me so. But somehow,
Someway, we again became good
friends, and the hurt was let go.
But time flew by and we knew
It was finally time to say good-bye.
He’d go his way, and I’d go mine, we knew
Those were just plain facts.
And then we made a special pact;
One that would never end
No matter what transpired throughout our lives
We’d always remain best friends.
If we needed each other, no
matter what, we’d always be there,
We didn’t know where our lives would go
But about each other, we would always care.
Most would say that
Was lip service and would never come
To pass, but throughout our lives and
Even today, the friendship pact still lasts.
For when his first child died, and it
Grieved him so, I was there to lend
A helping hand, but that sorrow,
I would never know.
And when my precious father died, I couldn’t
Find a priest; he was the first to help me out,
And a priest he quickly found.
Love will come, it will go; it’s a fragile thing.
It’s a joy, but can break your heart
But the value of a true friend is an
Infinite thing, and will never fall apart.
