The difference between stealing & thieves

You Stole My Heart...

but then again...

I watched you take it...

Have you ever fell in love?

Of course you have....

I sometimes fall into love

(it is a long way down too...)

I sometimes landslide into love

(I scraped my a$$ all up)

and sometimes I stumble into love...

(my weak ankles)

I have been caught in love too...

(dayam sticky traps & treble hooks)

manipulated by impersonators of lvoe (I spelt that wrong on purpose)

deceived by decapitators of lvoe (ditto)

but if there is a next time

you know....

that one time I hear about

“true love”

well...it's all true actually isn't it?

Even those lusting in love?

It's true passion

true desire

Well anyway...

if there is a next time

for the big elle (L)

I know what I will do...

I won't fall

or be blindsided

or landslided

or caught up in it

none of that...

I am going to keep my eyes wide open

& then

I am going to stick my foot out and trip someone...

A sense of humor about dating. Dang. Hard to have in these days, I would imagine. So glad I'm married. A fun poem to read.

Geesh Vickie,
You sure tell it like it is. I know the feeling been there done that! But do not give up, I am sure you will find that perfect someone. " Chaque pain a son morceau de fromage" Every piece of bread has its' own piece of cheese. This is one of my favorite saying in French.

Laughing my head off at this one although so much of it is true...I don't think as poets and romantics we have a whole lot of control over love...I think we are ruled by our hearts and our minds only kick in when we find out somehow the love we thought was real was just smoke and mirrors. That being said...when two romantics fall in love...then the angels themselves sing.

Ohhhhh Vickie there will be a next time, just step in with your eyes wide open, hold your heart in tack with a lock and key before you open it wide enough for anyone to get in before you are ready to let them in.
Fred tried to get into my heart after my divorce and it took him seven years. I refused to let anyone steal my heart again once I got it back and mended.

I appreciate your wry sense of humor here with this theme dear Vickie. I can relate to all that you have expressed via your verses. Thank you. Love, hugs, and best wishes,
