A Workshop assignment to write a poem about a haunted house, and make it scary! BOOO!

UNHOLY HOUSE

Black house with towers soaring,
scratching against mad night sky.
Bats screeching black-eyed warnings.
Lightning bolts crackling on high.

Black-edged evil incarnate,
green shadows, blinking orange lights.
Ah, the blinking, it cuts a trail,
fierce-eyed beacons, unholy night.

Rolling night sky swallows up stars.
Silence streaming ice across land.
All quake in fear of the dark house,
frozen in fear just where they stand.

Tumultuous rumble and roar,
dark house spews mountains of smoke
punctuated by bullets of fire
in warning to all simple folk.

Dark house sings mystical hymns,
enveloped in power supreme.
Let all take care to respect it,
by moonlight on each Halloween.
