In a dream world of undersea,
lives a meramid with scales of green.
Her hair is combed with a golden comb
found in a shipwreck from times unknown.

She plays with dolphins in a game of chase,
and with the seals, she loves to race.
She rides the waves late at night,
and watches the seagulls graceful flight.

She has been known somtimes to swim,
under a blue whale's gigantic fin.
Sometimes in the dusk she is seen,
sitting and combing her hair of green.

Waving at sailors from afar,
while wondering what their legs are for.
"A tail," She thinks, "is all you need,
to swim beneath the deep blue sea."
