She wore a filmy dress that
drifted behind her as she passed
within the silence of the shifting
landscape of her present and past.

Sunsets and moon risings happened
without her noticing or seeing them.
Time shifted, it had a different way
of moving that reminded her of him.

The house that once was filled with joy
stood high above the town on a hill.
Its melancholy air and solemn windows that glare,
keep people away and it stands so very still.

She dwells inside this lonely mansion,
keeping a watch for his long awaited return.
But, forever will she wait for him there,
for this place is no longer his earthly concern.
