A Distant Melody

She dances with her shadow
to songs of yesterday
a sad and distant melody
with nothing more to say
Her love has gone astray

She dreams of starlit paradise
painted on the blue moon sky
She knows her love is gone for good
her love is set to die
yet still she wonders why

She holds the blade
against her wrist
Her life begins to flow
Her heart becomes her enemy
But why she doesn’t know

Awakened form her stormy sleep
a chill within her breast
she turns and sees her lover there
alone in peaceful rest
untouched by her nightly test
Depression’s horror at its best

A dream; however, if it were to be reality, how painful the heart would sink into submission before death was captured.

Your creative ability is truly magnified. The shadows of our past seem to manifest themselves in dreams and seep into our conscious thoughts.

Her lover is there but is her love?
has it really died not ever to be replaced no matter who shares her bed.
