driven by the morning breeze
drift from place to place
dancing in the morning dew
kissing the shy frozen earth
Nuclear Love (Senyru)
A desolate heart
destroyed by nuclear love
yesterday’s fallout
Horses (Sijo)
Horses run majestically
surveying their private domain.
Aware of their nobility
they spend their lives playfully
teasing all lesser known gods.
Ruling supreme in lush green fields.
My first attempts at each style. When I write in a Japanese style, I stay away from the suicide topic... hahaha!

Thank you Lori, for sharing these here. As I said earlier it is always interesting to me to learn about other styles of writing. (smile) Now I am gonna have to do some more exploring on these. These three were exceptional, you never cease to amaze me with your talents here.

I am hardly an expert at Japanese poetry, but these were lovely. **Mari**
I liked all three, Lori. I loved the one about horses. It's the Year of the Horse, and I fell in love with horses in Kentucky. They are truly majestic. Nuclear love reminded me too much of the very first haiku that I wrote in 1986:
Hiroshima Haiku
Blinding light
burning my people--
death everywhere...
