I'd promise you...

I'd promise you forever,
if it were up to me.
I'd promise you a cloudless day,
and a glassy crystal sea.

I'd promise you a city,
where roses never die.
Where love can wait forever,
and lovers never cry.

But alas, my love,
as my hearts breaks,
my mind is forced to see...
That time and space will not allow,
our love to be set free.

How I wish I understood,
the things I cannot see...
the dynamics of a fallen dream...
the purpose of a dreamers scene...
the reasons for a promise spent...
the truths our words should represent...
these simple things are often hard for me...

As I sit and reminisce,
and dream the dream of our first kiss,
the sights and sounds that lovers see, I see...

I think of you,
and what I've lost
I count the everlasting cost
and know within that love will never be...
Yet you my love,
my dream of dreams,
yes you my love will always be to me,
the one I'll hold within my heart,
my hidden fantasy...
