Standing on the edge of the world
The wind whipped her mind into space
The body she inhabits stands lonely on the cliff
As her being becomes in a different place and time
Standing on the edge of the world
The sun crashes down at his feet
He is waiting for something he does not know
Everything he is soars to the sun
There they stand on the edge of the world
Waiting for something new to begin
Waiting for something old to cease
Knowing only that the things that shall be, will be
Standing on the edge of everything he is
She reaches out for him, to grasp his hand
Waiting only for that slight feeling
From the love that is so near, so far
Standing on the edge of everything she is
He reaches for her out stretched hand
He knows only that his love must be met
That she, his love, is so near, so far
Standing there on the edge of the world
They each hope for the touch of the other
But what shall be, shall be
And what shall not be, will be dearly sought
Standing there waiting for each other
The edge of the world so far from what they really are
They know that what is, and was, is done
And their touch shall never be encountered.
Standing on the edge of the world
Standing on everything he is
And everything she is
The edge of the world drifts away
