Hope rides in on cherubs’ wings,
But shadows come to call.
Just as season’s ebb and flow
Taste life and death for all.

But ever resurrecting yearly,
Nature’s evolution teaches…
More of life within its changes
Than from pulpits they can preach us.

Storms rage over land and water,
Wind bends down the mighty trees…
We cause the scars our Mother bares,
Until she brings us to our knees.

She offers comfort in her wisdom,
Yet we fail to see her grace…
She offered flesh to hold the soul,
Her womb our final resting place.

She teaches yet we fail to heed,
Each season to us just the same…
Forgetting she’s the birthing place,
Of Heaven’s soil from which we came.
