We've all been through it and it was great but we forget the first time!

Baseball’s Fun

When my son turned five, he wanted to play,

A game called baseball, its fun they say.

So we signed him up when the season came,

That's when I went to his first ball game.

The kids looked so cute in their neat little hats.

What will they do with those great big bats?

I soon found out, for it was my sons turn,

The ump called him out, but I guess he'll learn.

The game went on and on like that,

With kids running, throwing and using the bat.

I didn't understand very much that went on,

But I was so proud of my dear little son.

The people screamed and yelled terrible names.

"Oh my," does this go on at all baseball games?

The poor little pitcher they yelled at the most.

If that were me, I'd give up the post.

It's only a game and they're blowing their lids.

For heaven sake, they're only kids!

I was so glad when it came to an end,

My bones were so stiff, and I couldn't even bend.

The kids looked so sad and I thought they would cry.

When they scheduled the next game,

I thought I would die!

For my oldest son, Jim

i remember those wee ones playing ball--so cute and wonderful when the adults let them be and just teach the game
