Oh, this diabetes sure creates problems.

Poem Artwork

Sweet Eyes

Woke up one morning and I couldn’t see.
Everything was fuzzy and blurry to me.
I’m trying to read but it’s a challenge for sure.
What happened to my eyes and is there a cure?

I’m trying to write and making many mistakes,
Oh, this is the pits, for heaven sakes.
Yesterday when I awoke, my eyes were just fine.
What happened since then to these eyes of mine?

Sugar in my eyes is what it must be,
When it is high, I can’t see.
But I’ve got to keep writing, that’s what I do,
And hope that my friends can’t see too.

Bonnie May

...in a different perspective...to find sugar in ones eyes...is more welcomed than anger found...which many are blind to.
beyond diabetes...eyes of sweetness...hold much within.

Oh, Bonnie! Know what you're talking about; my problem wasn't diabetes but cataracts!Had surgery, fine for 6 months, then blurring came again. Found to be membrane growths over implanted lens. Got lazer zapping that did the trick. Could see all the way to the moon!
More prayers for you, luv! No sugars or that artificial-sugar gunk, the latter is worse...

OKAY,SINCE YOU PUT IT THAT WAY, I WON'T SEE ANY MISTAKES YOU MAKE,OK?
SOMETIMES THINKING OF A TITLE IS THE HARDEST PART--YOU HAVE A GREAT TITLE FOR THIS ONE.
REMEMBER, NO EASTER BASKET FOR YOU, UNLESS IT'S FILLED WITH VEGGIES!
TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR EYES, SIS! AND WE'LL PRAY THAT YOUR SUGAR WILL GO DOWN.
