Lost My Priceless Ring!
Before we had our mountain, we went camping quite a bit.
We always loved the outdoors, & the mountains surely fit.
One time we took our granddaughter, for she loved them too.
She was so much fun to take, from the time she was just two.
This particular summer, she was five and she just lost a tooth.
She worried about the fairy finding her, she didn’t know the truth.
So we reassured her firmly, the tooth fairy would come that night.
She would never forget Jordie, for that would not be right.
Jordie’s tooth was under the pillow, when I tucked her in her bed.
A few hours later, I slipped the money under her sleeping little head.
It was very cold that night and I shivered all night through.
I slept a little, but my hands and toes, began turning blue.
As I awoke, I had to go potty and ran outside to go.
As cold as it was that day, I thought it was gonna snow.
I put the coffee on and tried to restart the embers to the fire.
By the time the others woke up, I was pretty tired.
My hands were still cold & I rubbed them off and on.
That’s when I finally noticed, that my precious ring was gone.
I searched everywhere I wandered and others helped me as well.
For it was a very valuable ring, and too sentimental to tell.
We searched for hours and finally realized, it was truly gone.
Accepting I would never find it, even if I looked all week long.
Feeling sad and despondent, I tried to carry on.
Thinking of things to do that day, for ways of having fun.
That was when we heard Jordie, letting out a scream.
It came from our tent a distance away, alongside the stream.
She ran and skipped to greet us, waving a dollar in the air.
“Look what the Fairy gave me,” I could only stare.
She was so excited, she started to dance and sing.
For on her chubby little finger, was my precious, priceless ring.
“Look what the fairy put under my pillow, she found me like you said.”
It must have slipped off my finger when I tucked her in her bed.
What a dilemma I was in, I wasn’t sure what I should do.
I loved this child with all my heart, but I’m fond of that ring too.
So I said, “Oh my precious little child, Grandma lost a tooth too, “
That ring was for me my darling, the dollar was for you!”

Once I thought I had lost the diamond ring that my grandmother had given to me, and I was sad for the whole day. I looked for it everywheere and could not find it so I accepted the fact it was lost and gone. But somehow two days later while I wasn't looking my daughter has found it for me. Imagine the joy I had in seeing that ring again.
