Don't ever buy your husband paint...

Poem Artwork

Wrong Present

Oh, what can I buy him; his special day will soon be here?
His dad just gave us a lecture on money, as his day got near.
Off I went shopping to find a sensible gift that would delight him.
For hours I looked around and my chances were growing slim.

Then I saw it sitting there and knew that this was right,
It was very practical and would make our house real bright.
It was a humungous can of paint that our house needed so bad.
So I grabbed the chosen can of paint, brushes and some pads.

Proud of the decision I made and I did what his father said,
Got home, baked a chocolate cake wrapped the can in red.
He blew out his candles and made his yearly wish.
He was hoping for a particular gift, something to do with fish.

As he opened up his present I saw his face grow bleak.
“YOU bought me paint!” and he jumped right to his feet.
He grabbed the can of paint and put it on the ground.
With his gun he shot it, paint flying all around.

I thought he went crazy, and said, “Oh, for heavens sake.”
He replied, “by the way, I also hate chocolate cake.”

Cute Bonnie! I can remember a time when I was given (no joke) a vaccuum cleaner for my birthday. Well me being me, I threw the vaccuum and the person who gave it out the front door promptly. Gee, was I being a little rude? You think? Great tale....

Be always safe,
Karen
