I do appreciate him, I honestly do, I'm just sick of duct tape and glue.

Poem Artwork

Mr. Fixit

Everything Mr. Fixit touches is never quite the same again.
It is either rapped in duct tape, glued or has a little bend
I shouldn’t be too surprised by the car he used to drive.
The starter fell on the ground when every left turn arrived.

He’d get out and pick it up and shove it beneath the car.
It never stayed put and would fall off again, before we got too far.
He’s great at jerry rigging things and making them work for awhile.
But when you really need them, they shut down in style.

It never fails to happen when many people are around.
When something he just fixed, decides to totally break down.
Oh, I could tell you stories that make your hair completely curly.
But if I say one little thing about it, he gets upset and surly.

So I sit back and watch him with his nails, tape and his glue.
Hoping beyond hope, that it will work when he’s through.
To find one stud, he pounded 22 ten penny nails in my wall.
He never did find one, saying there were no studs there at all.

It’s not the Midas touch I yearned for; it’s a Smart touch I seek.
Smart enough to dial a phone when we have sprung a leak.

Duct tape is pretty good, but tell him to try Gorilla tape, thats even better jury-rigging stuff much longer in the end...ed

Some of the people that I know, don't go to the races, or casinos, or sports events because those people there go berserk for nothing.
Then, he goes into one of those "men" shops with nails, screws and hammers and...he go berserk buying things that he will never use and if one day he needs to, he wouldn't know how to use them anyway.
Yes, i know a few Mr. Fixit!

We sure could use "Mr. Fixit" today! Someone drove, jumped the curb, drove through my neighbors wooden fence, through his barn size (and shape) shed right up to his house this morning. Flying deris, wood, tree branches, leaves, grass and dirt all over everything. OooooEeeee,
what a horrific mess indeed. Pieces of my neighbors front yard, fence and shed everywhere tying up traffic for hours.....Oh, and the Central Air decided to shut down (93 degrees outside) and in the master bedroom a raging river as the hot water tank created its own path. Of course then there is the desktop computer that froze on the main screen so the Best Buy "Geek Squad" will be graced with a visit too!!!!!!!! Other than that it has been a most uneventful day, what say you?

Be always safe,
Karen
