Oh that Little Man!

Poem Artwork

No More Banana Boats!

Little Man was a joy in the mountains with us.
He never complained or made a big fuss.
I wanted to make him a special treat.
So at the campfire I made something we all like to eat.

I made him a banana boat with chocolate and marshmallow,
I could believe what happened to that dear little fellow.
His words came out higher and faster, than a jet could fly.
His feet couldn’t keep still for a minute, that poor little guy.

“No more banana boats for this Little Man,” was my reply.
“But Grandma,” he said, “this was my very first try.”
“They’re so good Grandma, I’ll do better next time.”
“Not in your life!” was my very last line.
