Poem Artwork

Always Surprised

I must have been in the wrong line when God was handing out directions.
For I can’t find my way out of a paper bag and there are no exceptions.
No matter how hard I try, I get lost on all my missions.
Rights, lefts, north, south and no matter what conditions.

IF I mysteriously find my way there, then I can’t find it back.
I get all discombootled because the sense of direction, I lack.
God gave me many things, a sense of humor definitely was one.
So when I get lost and disoriented, I make it lots of fun.

I stop at every corner to ask someone the way.
I meet a lot of nice people and have an exciting day.
Even if I’ve been there before, it doesn’t seem to matter.
I still get lost in the comings and goings, mostly the latter.

The great things about my missions are, I've seen many places.
I've seen museums, land marks and a lot of interesting faces.
It amazes my husband every time when I tell him where I've been,
But I can never take him, cause I can't find my way back again.

Each time I go on my missions, my husband gets concerned.
He tries to tell me how to get there, but I never seem to learn.
I never take a map with me or even a telephone.
That’s why my husbands always surprised when I finally make it home.

I was never too prous to ask directions when looking for someonw or the way to somewhere. Sometimes you cannot rely on your own judgment and have to ask, asking never hurt anyone. Most men hate to ask for directions. I do not and even stop at a gas station if needed or call to someone even in their yards or on sidewalk. Most of the time, I do get the right directions and arrive at my destination I was starting for. Good write thugh Bonnie, this is just my opinion to this write. Another hard one to review for me, don't know why though. Had to think long about it too.

I, too, can relate. You have said this in such an entertaining way. I like the parts about your husband; if he's good at directions as mine is, they just can't understand what's wrong with us. "You've been there a million times! How can you NOT know the way?" Thanks for the laughs, Bonnie dear.

Love,
Connie

cute--i struggle with the same affliction--i decided that i just don't tend to pay attention--at least until i started driving a horse trailer--then getting lost was a lot less convenient and i tend to be much more aware of where i am and landmarks tec--otherwise, i think my mind is going too fast!

hee, hee, hee...
This reminds me of one of my daughters. She tried to tell the parents of someone she was babysitting for, how to get her home (they were less than two miles away) and she ended up sending them 15 miles in the opposite direction! Luckily they all had a sense of humor about it!

I think its a female thing, as when we were going to Missouri I gave Rene the map and told her to find me a way around St. Louis & was told, after several minutes of hemming and hawing, to just stay on the road we were on which put is directly in the middle of downtown at afternoon rush hour...that was her last chance, I just mapped out the route either the night before or pulled over onto the shoulder to deal with it...this was quite special making me have a good morning grin, thanks, Ed

LOL, me, too, Bonnie, have a terrible sense of direction. Take after my Daddy, I guess: he always got lost, it seemed. And wouldn't ask for directions. I do. Look what he missed out on!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
