Some Lessons You Don’t Want to Remember

Don’t put eggs in the microwave its something I have learned.
If you decide to put them there you might get a little burned.

Making and boiling hard boiled eggs is usually such an easy chore.
Except when you’re in a hurry and must meet a friend at the store.
So I took them out of the pot before they were completely done.
I noticed it soon after I pealed them, when the yolk started to run.

No problem, I’ll just plop them in the microwave so I’m not late.
So I popped all the uncooked peeled eggs in the micro on a paper plate.
When I took the eggs out of the oven, the kids were standing there.
We watch the eggs dancing, hopping up and down & we could only stare.

I took a closer look at these dancing eggs when they exploded all over the place.
They were on the walls, on the ceiling and particularly my extremely burned face.
There wasn’t a spot on me that wasn’t completely covered, I was simply fried.
At first my kids were horrified, but soon rolled with laugher til’ they all cried.

Oh you guys think this is funny but it feels like I’m on fire and it truly hurts.
They tried to calm down a little but one look at me, their smiles simply burst.
I had no idea how funny I must have looked with the egg stuck on my face.
So I looked into the mirror and it was hard to feel indignant & humble grace.

It looked like a new form of chicken pox but all yellow instead of red.
Except they didn’t itch at all, oh no, they burned like heck instead.
Okay, Okay I look hideous now help me clean up this mess.
In between their laughter I washed up and got re-dressed.

so, that was egg on your face? -- like small explosive devices when you expose them to microwaves -- glad you are able to laugh about it -- glad you are safe -- peace and scrambled eggs to you -- JMW

Funny write, Bonnie; reminds me of the time when daddy forgot about the eggs boiling on the stove. I was outside shoveling snow when I heard this muffled "B-Thoom"! When I came in, granny had her hand on her chest, a scared expression on her face, and I didn't know what to make of it. When I looked up the next day, there was egg all over the ceiling. The eggs had blown up. BOOM!! LOL Oh, did we ever have a mess to clean up!! LOL

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Let's just say daddy didn't make THAT mistake again!!

Boooooooooooooom! LOL Sorry to laugh, Bonnie, but this reminds me of a story - Daddy was boiling eggs on the stove top. Forgot about them when he went to work on his model airplanes and tanks ... Karen and Gramma heard this loud explosion - yep. The eggs. Gramma grabbed her chest, Karen said, and hollered, "Oh, my heart!" (She was fine, just scared half out her wits.) Next day, Karen looks up at the kitchen ceiling. Yep. The eggs. LOL Funny write with a message to be careful when you're cookin'! LOL Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I had no idea how funny I must have looked with the egg stuck on my face.

I think we all have Egg on Our Face, from time to time!

PS You sure waste a lot of eggs around your place, especially when you keep bopping my two brothers with pans full of eggs!
