TEACHERS have my deepest appreciation and love. Hats off to all Teachers everywhere.

It Ain’t Easy
 
It was her first day of school and she was terrified but excited.
When the little ones came in the room, she was totally delighted.
Teaching was her chosen profession she never thought of another career.
This is where she wanted to be, she felt at home right here.
 
But then the kids realized she was new and decided to initiate her right.
So they started throwing things around, they even started a fight.
This went on almost all morning, until they finally settled down.
She would have to show them who was boss, a decision that was sound.
 
But no way were they going to listen and no way were they done yet.
She had to be quite harsh with them; she did it with intense regret.
There will be no recess for you my wild class until you’re all quiet.
But as soon as her words were uttered they started another riot.
 
She began to clean up the mess they made by throwing things around.
She bent over to pick up a book and you could not hear a sound.
All of a sudden hysterical laughter broke out and she had enough.
“Billy what are you laughing about?” she sounded really tough.
 
So Billy answered right away and said, “Teacher I saw your slip.”
“That’s it Billy, go to the Principal’s office and have a nice trip!”
She bent over again to pick up more, when laughs broke out again.
Whoever that is laughing now, she thought, I am going to suspend.
 
“Now what? Johnny what are you laughing at?” “I saw your thighs,”
“That’s it, you’re suspended for a week,” & she ignored his cries.
 
When she bent over for the third time, she heard the pitter pat of little feet.
She quickly stood up and looked angrily at Eddie, who was departing in retreat.
“Eddie, what in the world are you doing, no one said you could be a rover?”
“Well, after what I just saw, I knew for sure, that my school days were over.”

I reached the ending and laughed. Great ending. I was a teacher for thirty years and a year and day didn't go by that some kid or an entire class didn't test me to see if they could take over control of the classroom. Reading "It Aint Easy" reminded me of my first long term substitute job back in 1977-1978, when I was called up to take over an Intermediate School art class (the teacher had a nervous breakdown and committed herself to a hospital). That room was a mess--a war zone where the art materials had been used as ammunition aimed walls and ceiling. Two weeks later, the kids were calling me "Sergeant".

I still remember all my teachers: first grade through 12th. :) Means they done good (even though I wasn't a model student: busted my tail, only made "C's." Except math: failed to grasp the concept, failed the entire time. Not Teacher's fault. Needed help that wasn't provided. Beautiful, Bonnie!

I have had some amazing teachers and one who wanted to step on me at every turn, but all and all I was blessed in the teachers I had

I had some phenomenal teachers when I was growing up...some that I keep in contact with even today... my children also have had a few such teachers. But...sadly...they aren't what they used to be! Too many out of control children is part of the cause, but the other problem is the teachers who don't have any problem telling you that they know your child better than you! ARGH!!!
