In the center of my pain
There is you,
Eyes the color of cold
And glacier ice blue,
Hidden from the sun
You refuse to melt,
Leaving all my senses numb,
But all my disappointments felt.
In the center of my tears
There is you,
Smiling lips the color of a storm
That is starting to brew,
Your words are thunder
That echoes in my brain,
I never felt the lightening,
But I sure felt the rain.
In the center of my mind
There is you,
Soft skin of winter white snow
With varying shades and hues,
You walk through my memory
Both night and day,
I’ve touched you there a thousand times,
But I always knew you would go away.
In the center of my world
There is you,
And though I try to deny it
I know there’s nothing I can do,
When I gave you my heart
I could feel it crack,
And there is something about a broken heart,
That makes you not want to take it back.
