Footsteps Through The Sky -

I dreamt I was swimming there in a silver stream somewhere ,
against the flow .
I don’t know why ,the other fish just passed me by .

I looked around me as I swam and thought about being a man ,
then I looked away up high and I saw your footsteps through the sky .

I’m following your footsteps through the sky and little clouds are stepping stones where the rivers have run dry.

And all the fish they don’t know why ,
all they see up above are your footsteps through the sky .

I was washed up on a sandy shore . ‘
The angry sea began to roar , then out of the corner of my eye,
I saw your footsteps through the sky .

I landed on a mountain top and as my breathing almost stopped I heard you say its time to fly and I followed your footsteps through the sky .

Until the storms have passed by and when all of the seas have run dry .

There will come a time for you and I
to walk forever through the sky .

I’m following your footsteps through the sky and little clouds are stepping stones where the rivers have run dry
and all the fish they don’t know why ,
