A scented bath
began the ritual she had come
to know so well
powdered and perfumed
she chose her clothes carefully
knowing the impression she left
tonight
would have to last till the next time
and she wanted him
to remember her, everytime he closed his eyes
she wanted her scent
to stay on his mind, in his heart
she wanted her
smile
to haunt his dreams when he was away from her
as he always was
as she knew now he always would be
the pain was as fresh as when she first realized
he would never leave HER
but she couldn't stop
this dance they had begun
this liar's minuet
they danced so well together
this tango of passion they practiced
every chance they got
she couldn't walk off the dance floor

But bad habbits~ Are healthier for you when you "do" break them..
Thank you! A good reminder..for me,, to walk away from the dance..the waltz..altogther.
Going back, I already know,, would just be another dance

good job, sweetie. sometimes it's very hard to leave the dance...before the last song has played out..in hopes that an encore will keep it going, perhaps.
i don't seem to get beyond the first 2 step..then it's a matter of dancing around the issues.
