Mmm, as a woman I know how hard
Those three little words
Are to say
And God help you if you are waiting
For them to be said
By your man
It’s like pulling a tooth
Because they know
That there are some pretty solid strings
Attached to those words
But on the internet, I love you
Is bandied about like
Hello and goodbye
I love you today but tomorrow
I will probably love her
Because her words were perhaps sexier
Or her bio prettier
I love you because I don’t have to marry you
Support you or listen to you talk
Every night
I love you because you give good verbal head
And it doesn’t cost me a thing
In commitment or money
Or any of the other things that real love
Can cost
I love you because you don't see me
And you don't know who i am
I love you because you flatter me
And your comments
Are so nice
I love you because I’m lonely and this
Is easier than
Real life
I love you because I’m a poet
And love is what we do
I’m sorry if it hurts you when I move on tomorrow
To the next one in line
Didn’t you know
That is what internet love is all about?
my apologies to Janet and Alan, there are people who form real bonds and commitment from internet meetings but i'm sure they will admit, they are an exception rather than the rule. Take it for what it is but don't change your life till you are sure of what you are doing...and who you are in love with!

Dear Sue; Very well put! I had a web "friend" and we goofed a lot. She declared that she loved me and started insisting that I tell her I loved her. I emailed back that we really knew nothing about each other, except what we had emailed on line, and this was not really love, but some kinda web infatuation. She soon stopped bothering to email me. On the other hand...I think there is also an element, for some, of greater honesty on the 'net than off, rather than less. It is "easier" to say I love you but not necessarily less sincere. I dunno. Never had an Interne romance. Just good friends.

There are pros and cons to internet love, as there is to everything. The good thing about internet love is that you are usually drawn first to the person's personality, rather than their looks. However, that being said... it's too easy to lie and to be lied to. *Sigh*
Good write and so true about many of the relationships on the net, what is truely sad is that many are there for the game of it, while some, its thier only way of reaching out, expressing feelings to someone. Love comes in many forms, shapes and sizes...but then so does deceit...its a tough world in which we live.
There it is...the third dimension. "I love you because you don't see me, and you don't know who I am" ahh but, through this medium there is more seen, than beats the eye. We open our guts to all that come here, lay it out like so much laundry, and we are fortunate to have friends that appreciate us for what we are. Love is never bandied, take it for what it's worth. If you have touched a heart or have been touched, then there is love. Good write, delvish. Thanks I LOVE it.

Eloquently Written! Although there are exceptions for Internet Love, there

No aplology necessary before 'us' Alan & I had those that we cared about and loved and thanked God that we didn't have to deal with them on a 'real' day to day basis. ;) Never the less they meant a lot to us. Very honest write.
