I woke this morning to a faucet dripping
A sound that drives me mad
This time that monotonous drip drip drip
Only made me sad
Once I would have raved and bitched
Until you stopped that sound
Then I’d coo and kiss your hand
On the little cut I’d found
You’d laugh and say you’d bill me
Or take it out in trade
I’d pretend to be insulted
Until your smile would fade
Then I’d laugh and run to the bed
Giving your hand a pull
And keep you there till afternoon
Or until you were paid in full
Now you’re gone and the drip remains
Cause all my childish rages
Don’t mean a thing to man I call
From a number in the yellow pages
i wrote this and a couple of others lately that i've posted during my rhyming period. sometimes i kinda miss the rhymes.
