I’d like to believe
That I’m the center of the universe
The ‘why’ in every situation
The ‘who’ in every congregation
The ‘guest’ at every celebration
In every launch, the final GO
But deep down
I know it just isn’t so
Deep down
I know
That in life’s great ocean
I’m hardly a ripple
No giant tsunami
No hurricane named Suzi
No monsoon, no cyclone
I’m not even a wind that through
The trees moan
I’m not a clashing, raging storm
I’m more like the bubbles
That on the edge of the shore
Leave that little pool of foam
Here now, as you glance
Gone when closer you dare to advance
A bare ripple at the edge
Of your perception
A nibble at
Your consciousness
As you travel through
Your life

Yep, little fish in big pond describes most of us. Great poem.
o, i love the anologies and imagery in this powerful, beautiful write
though you aren't a raging storm, or giant tsunami, no monsoon, no cyclone...only bubbles leaving little pools of foam...you still leave your mark in a gentle, quiet way
i'm putting this into my library to read again and again--most inspirational!!
Rosetta was born in 1909 as the youngest of ten children. The family had more laughter than money and neighbors would knock on their door to ask, "Can we come in and laugh, too?"
TRUE STORY. Bella survived an abusive powerbroker father with organized crime ties, a drug-addicted mother and a physically/sexually abusive brother. Shocking & inspirational. When she couldn't cry, she tattooed a crying angel to cry for her.

Bear
