We met on the net
How many times
Those words have been said
A whole new world
Of relationships and loves
Of truths and lies
That no one can disprove
We met on the net
So simple and so safe
What harm can come
From something so vague
Distance is safety
I’ve heard so often before
How can I get hurt
Its only words, a chat room
What harm can it possibly do
You’d never know
Unless
You’ve been there yourself
Unless
You met on the net
And remember the pain
No less intent
you remember the passion
No less searingly hot
The feelings so real
Impossible to forget
Those words now haunt
We met on the net

It took me only two times to meet someone on the net and realize that too many people are lying about who they are. That's all the more reason I love this place, where we all bare our souls...nice job Sue.

A great piece of contemporary poetry. Had someone ever thought of 'meeting on the net' a few years ago, we'd have thought them insane. But today......well, perhaps we've all experienced it, yes? Well done, I enjoyed reading this. Thank you
