I did a show in Farmington Hills, Michigan with Middle School Students and this poem a trubute to them is how they affected me, and they know about it. As parents we demonstrate our faith by example and teach our children values like every human being has worth. And as a collective community we demand academic excellance by active participation in our educational systems throughout the country. The greatest resources ever are our children: invest in them.

There are three lights in the world,

the bright sun, the moon, and you.

You can become kings and queens,

mayors, governess or president

perhaps a space shuttle astronaunt.

And speak many languages fluiently,

yet build buildings that tower to the sky!

You will know sorrow, pain, peace, and joy

these emotion you will employ.

Hello our blest tomorrows,

thank you girl I salute you boy.

A scientist, doctor, a computer whiz,

we love you all cause you're our kids.

There is no mountain you can't climb,

no vale steep, river deep, nor ocean wide!

Parents, teacher,  and pastor's shall inspire,

pushing higher to the other side.

The grass is green now greener,

wow, that sky so royally blue.

Somehow God fits into the mist of it all,

twinkle, you're that star shinning through.

Beautiful! The schools should recite this poem during bellroom time. The child in me has my heart leaping with glee. A very inspiring poem.

Deeply moving poem to the most beautiful gifts on earth. Our children. They are indeed the sparkling stars of our Universe. I have three and they are called My moon, sun and venus. Well Done, Deborah:)

A very inspirational piece, a tribute to the children and to all mankind. With a little determination we can conquer all...

Be always safe,
Karen

Man, what a great ending couplet and pretty damn good poem all along. I wish when I was a kid in school, someone this positive and creative had come along to inspire me and take an interest... don't have any memory of that happening, but thankfully I had great parents.
Keep your message coming... and kids today need that "spiritual beat" thrown in especially (the beats they've got) Great work...michael guy
