I was watching a torrential rain storm and the way the sky lit up. The thunder and lightning reminded me of July 4th.

Tonight's sky like the Fourth of July,

crackle, boom, bang, the thunder.

In concert with lightning, I ponder!

The infinite much to high for me,

I think, and see, feel and touch.

But ever high in the sky,

there is no reality for me.

Lightning comes and thunder roars,

daylight flashes in the darkness,

the night beautifully silenced,

except for the echoes on high.

Alas, the grass adorns her Spring green coat,

and Winter's drab brown coat diminished.

Hearing the constant patter of the rain,

on trees, rooftops, and window sills.

The sky lights up roars and cries,

and mother earth comforts her,

as they fade blending into midnight!

Dear Michael,

A very comforting poem that will touch hearts in many powerful ways.
Referring to storms on the last line of the poem, "they fade blending into midnight!" So do the "Storms of Life" sometimes we just need to wait on The Lord and eventually the storms WILL end. Thank you again, my dear brother in Christ.

Michael,
I LOVE storms! I sit out on my porch and watch the wonderment of it. We had a bad storm last night during church services. We needed the rain badly! Excellent poetry!

Blessings,
~Linda

Nice imagery. Storms are my favorite.

This is a good one here:
"Alas, the grass adorns her Spring green coat,"
