A poem of gratitude, suffering, repentance, and exultation. When evil rule the people suffer and when the righteous rule the people rejoice. The righteous will be tried and when we prevail the Lord will reward us. A soldier without scars has no merit. May peace never cease!!!

The Nile river down through the ages,

many seers prolific sages,

breath taking vistas magnificent mountains,

hues, hanging gardens, and flowing fountains.

To this great land the pirgrims came,

indians flourished turkeys wild game.

Native Americans offered them sanctuary,

for thanks were given an obituary!

Excitment exploded world around,

from 911 America rebounds.

Ship to shore and shore to sea,

America, still the hope for the free!

911 recorded in heaven,

that day of infamy and shame.

What has happened to the earth's people below?

Some hearts are colder than ice and snow.

Greed is something some find pleasure in,

and call it success but devours our friends!

Hurt our neighbors disrespect the wife,

leave our children a world plagued with strife.

We scurry around like insects and bugs,

forgot the power from kisses and hugs!

We travel faster than the speed of sound,

can't control the pace crash to the ground.

Taxes so high we choke and shudder,

a burden to heavy on us my brother.

Change starts with you and me excclusively in

Washington D. C.  keep we the people free!

Taxes, inflation, wars, and hurricanes about,

justice and judgement the worlds people shout!

Recession, energy, corn oil, and clean coal,

must be the aim got to redefine what is gold!

The songs we sung for our liberty,

we live on the edge of how great we can be!

Skies royal blue mountains white snow capped high,

behold the majestic eagle soars in the sky.

What has kept us free is the God that be!

Whose face sadden by sin instead of glee.

The same God that made the river Jordan stand still,

and the Lord of Host taught Egypt that He is real!

We must pray and learn to share our earth,

there is bounty enough for all and its worth.

Strive hard for brotherhood, peace, and unity,

virtues such as these will keep the world free!

Those that forget history are condemned to repeat it. It's shown through the ages in your powerful lines. Well written, Michael.

Greed is so rampant in this world. When will it end?
Why does God seem to be lingering. I guess he know when the time is right, I know he knows, but tired of waiting and things are certainly getting worse as you put it in the poem above about all the things happening and all. Take care.

Very profound and thought provoking. Several examples of man's inhumanity to Man.
