Poem Artwork

Mr. Teddy Bear, I need to have

A little talk with you

About some of the things

You have seen Daddy do

You have seen him hit me

Till I fell to the floor

You have seen my tears fall

Till I couldn't cry no more

Mr. Teddy Bear,  you have seen

Me hungry and cold

With nothing but a dirty blanket

And you to hold

You have seen the bruises

I hide from the world

Can't let them know Daddy

Hit's his little girl

Mr. Teddy Bear,  You have seen

Me hide in horror and fear

Of the sound of Daddy's footsteps

I know I'll hear

You are my best friend

I can confide in you

Mr. Teddy Bear, Please tell

Me what to do...

Shhhh I can hear Daddy coming

Bounding up the stair

Don't let him hit me again

Mr. Teddy Bear

I truly believe Angels move through Teddy Bears for people who
confide in them in this way. Well done. Also, thank you for
your comments on "A Holographic Epiphany." Vicky

Priceless!!! The voice of children to be heard from Mr. Teddy Bear… reminds me if only these walls could talk, but I would rather listen to Mr. Teddy Bear speak through you Poet. Bravo! Hear wrenching write… but necessary!

As sad as this is, still isn't it wonderful that you have a way to let it out and the grit to do it?

Linda, I loved this poem. Made me think of the reason I started writing: to deal with the pain of being emotionally abused and neglected.
Continue to remind us why we need to break the cycle!

Linda, this one truly brought a tear to my eye. When I was a tiny tyke, I talked to my teddy bear a lot; but luckily, about nice things.

Your poem truly brings to light the plight of far too many abused children; and you write about their plight so gallantly.

Kudos to you once more.
