Daddy, Why?

Daddy, why do you hate me
What have I ever done to you
Why don't I get hugs and kisses
Like all the other kids do

Daddy, why do you curse me
Leave these bruises on my arm
I'm sorry I'm such a bad kid
That you have to do me harm

Daddy, why don't you love me
Is it cause Mommy went away
Are you taking it out on me
Cause she wouldn't stay

Daddy, why do you look at me
With such hate in your eyes
When you look at me with disgust
Something inside of me dies

Daddy, why do you hit me
Your rage is my greatest fear
I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells
Whenever you are near

I watch other kids playing
Their Daddy's pushing them in the swing
If you would show me that much love
I'd just give anything

I cower in the darkness
Wishing I wasn't so terribly bad
You know, I still love you Daddy
Even when I make you mad

Bless you Linda.
I have spent my years working to protec children from abuse. First it was child theft, then child assaults, then children sexually abused. Why oh Why?
Dad's beware - the love of a daughter is wonderful and deep - dont abuse that trust.
Best wishes
Miller

Wow again Linda,
I'm trying to get all your poems read and reviewed but finding your painful but true to life writings need be read slowly or the hurt is too hard to bear.

Linda,
Excellent Poem-BRAVA! You bring out the horrors of Child Abuse! I bet you have been wondering where I have been?Well, about 11 weeks ago our home computer ethernet card got fried during a thunderstorm and electrical storm. We had to wait till a friend of mine loaned me the money as my Christmas Gift a little early. Now I have my very own COMPUTER!
So,I apologize for not reviewing you. I will start again until I get my renewal memebership paid. Things have been tight.
Could you say a prayer for me?-I already had my 1st brainstem tumor taken out in 1997 and that one was diagnosed in 1989.
On Thursday, the 12th of August,I had my 2nd brain lesion in the Parietal lobe discovered on Open MRI. The Nurse for the Neurosurgeon called today, basically it is hopeless and she gave me about a year left to live,I told her to "GO TO H***". I am determind to keep my faith!
Love you much!

You are all heart.
Your words need to get out in that world so badly.
Here at the Den we poets are preaching to the choir.
Hardly a bad one in the bunch I'm sure.
You have to be heard...out there.
I don't know how, I just know.
Love,
John

A deeply disturbing and distraught write that covers an all too familiar subject , in today's modern and Godless society !!

Honestly and professionally handled Linda , in what is a difficult
topic to address in any case .
