Tell Someone NOW!

I cry for the little girl
Bruised and alone
Her mama hits her every day
And her daddy's gone
Look at my grave
My soul screams from within
Tell someone NOW
Don't pay for their sin

I cry for the little boy
Who's hungry and cold
No blanket on his bed
Just a teddy bear to hold
Look at my grave
I was just like you
Tell someone NOW
You know what to do

I cry for the children
Beaten and abused
Haven't you had enough
Of being hit and used
Look at my grave
See my tortured face
Tell someone NOW
You could be in my place

Talk to a teacher
Or to a trusted friend
Stop the abuse right now
Let the hurting end
Look at my grave
I hid my bruises well
I promised in my heart
I would never tell

I hid in the darkness
Afraid of the light
Don't be like me
Stand up and fight
Tell someone NOW
You have a life to give
It's too late for me
But I want you to live

Linda.
I read and understand. How we need more crusaders for the lives of the young. Yet so many turn their face, not wanting to see. They do not want to make waves.

Well written
Robin

Linda,
You really do know how to write about a terrible issue that goes on in our society here. If only we can get every child not to hid but to talk and exposed the one abusing then maybe they would not end up as a stat..
thank you
Tommy

Linda, I just can't imagine why the Child Abuse Awareness Societies has not picked up your work and carried to the ends of the earth. They should you know, you are the voice that needs to be heard.
Another touching and wonderful write Linda.

Empathise and sympathise greatly on this shocking mistreatment and abuse of innocent little Angels of God .

We should all work and pray together to eradicate this evil .

Linda, this is an extremely heartfelt write, my friend. I do believe it is never too late for one who has been abused to rejoin the general population, and remain unafraid with love and the proper support system in place. You know how I feel about this dreadful subject but, as always, your timeless poetry will hopefully encourage someone to reach out before it is too late. May you always rest in comfort knowing that you have done your absolute best to help those who are less fortunate who cannot or will not speak out for themselves. Excellent work, Poet.
