Dear Jesus
Can I be an angel
What can I do
I want to go to heaven
Do you need me too
I promise I'll be good
I'll dance around your throne
Mommy won't even notice
That I'm gone

Angel's don't bleed
Or do they cry
They bounce cloud to cloud
On wings that fly
Angel's don't hurt
From a body black and blue
Jesus, please take me
To heaven with you

Angel's aren't scared
They don't feel no pain
They don't lay on sheets
With crimstone bloodstains
Angel's don't have bruises
Or cry in the night
Angel's don't hide in closets
To keep out of sight

Angel's don't hurt
From a body black and blue
Jesus, please take me
To heaven with you

Amen

Beautifully said. Amen to George's deeply moving and attention-drawing. I second each and every compliment below! Wish I had the words and the wit to add with detracting. Linda, you are a wonder!!

Ah Linda, my heart bleeds at your writing, true as it is, and excellent a write as it is. My mind cannot comprehend abuse of any kind of another person, and totally less so, children.

Peace. Joyce

This is a sad and yet hopeful display of poetry, to wish for the entrance into Heaven and be the Angel by Jesus side is a great message of wishing combined with faith in healing...

Beautiful write my friend, sad and very touching...many little children in our world today have cried from the abuse that has been inflicted upon them. Sad but a realistic view from a child's eye.

Angels may not cry but I do and this stunning open look at child abuse through the eyes of a child brought such a pain to me that I cannot describe. As a father and grandfather I get sick knowing that there are animals out there who could do this to an innocent child.
Well said and a definate eye opener, should be painted on the ceilings of the cells that all pediofiles are incarcerated in.

The voice in this poem is fantastic! The voice lures the reader right into the writing. This is beautifully written but so sad and heartfelt. No, I'm sure Angel's don't hurt, but children do.

You speak for the hurting, the abused, more eloquently than I ever could. Continue to be their voice, Linda, and maybe one day, man will finally hear their painful cries.........so sad, to want to die, because of abuse.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Linda,
No matter how many times I read this, I cry. I've missed you and your work.
Your poetry makes a person, have to touch the real side of life. It makes them stand up and be accountable for what goes on around them. Thank You, for being their soft place to land.
