Mama..do you have any idea how much
I've missed you thru the years
Time hasn't taken away
The memories or the tears
I can see you sitting before me
A cup of coffee in your hand
Or standing in the kitchen
rattling your pots and pans
I wish you were here Mama
I need you so much
There's nothing quite like
A mama's tender touch
Some times I need you to listen
Mama, you were always there
To hold me when I cried
To let me know you cared
The years go flying by
As fast as they can
I try to be strong Mama
I yearn to understand
When I have problems
That take over my heart
I want to talk to you Mama
Its hard to be apart
God took you to your Heavenly home
So many years ago
The many tears I've cried for you
No one will ever know
Rest in God's loving arms
For you worked hard here on Earth
Mama , I took you for granted
Now I know how much you're worth...
For those of you who didn't read my poem...In Memory of Kitty Ann Spence...My Mama..... She was killed by a hit-run driver when she was only 39 years young. She was crossing the road one rainy Oct. night and didn't see the car coming. It's a day I will never forget. She left eight children and a husband behind. So tragic. The man who hit her was later found...but he was a known alcoholic. He was probably drinking at the time. I stand united with my fight against drunk drivers because I know first hand the pain involved. Thank all of you for reading this....sometimes I just want to sit beside her at her old kitchen table and drink coffee and just talk to her for hours.......sadly......that can't happen now.
Its so sad to hear of such a loss as yours, but you've gained strength to fight the fight against drunk drivers---and on behalf of your mother, that is heroic.
My eyes are misty as I write. I too miss my mother, but she lived a long productive life. I don't know how I would be now if the same happend to me as did you Linda. I admire you for your attitude! This is a loving tribute, and I'm glad you can feel her spirit as I believe she feels yours.
Oh my you've brought tears to my eyes with this write Linda, your ribute to your mother was so warm, caring, and sincere! The story beneath the poem...it breaks my heart! I too will fight against drunk drivers, my daughter and I were hit by one and they fled the scene as well. Later to be found and prosecuted, but she's right back out and today fifteen years later is still being picked up occasionally on a DUI...I don't understand this court system at all! Loved the write, touched my heart...beautifully written!
Blessings,
Joyce Bowling

A great poem for a good memory. You are lucky to have such a time though I know you become sad at the senselessness of it all. STay strong, and when one feels weak, just think of what she would have done or said and you will hear her tell you. Lady J
I am very sorry and sad for you, your family. You have written this from your heart and your pain still exists. Laws need to be much more severe and yet I hear they want to stop jail time for DWI's.
My heart reaches out for you as it does to all who have lost loving parents far too early, whether it be to needless and senless accidents or as in my own case (My mother died at 55 of cancer) illness, we never stop pining for them. The only consolation I have ever found was that she was needed to look after all the child angels also called too early from this world. Big hugs going out to you Linda my friend and a sincere happy mother's day
I think you've touched a nerve in all of us. I'm one of the lucky ones. My mother is still here with us or I should say she visits her grown children all over the country and is always welcomed and never has to worry about plane fare or accomadations. Her children love her that much. She's 83. Thank you, Linda.
(((HUGS))) and many prayers; God be with you today, my (((Dear Angel Friend)))! I concur with Karla: fifty nine is young, but not as young as thirty nine. Man! I'm so sorry! Chokes me up to think of the pain that drunken jerk put your family through, the memories you must have...I can't imagine the horror of it all! Tragic!

Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.

Truly heartfelt, Linda, and I think you truly are talking to her right now. She'll always be there, in your heart and soul.

I am so sorry that you lost your mother so early in life and under such sudden and tragic circumstances.
Be patient and have faith, Linda, for heaven is just ahead where you will both be in God's loving arms and the hurt will be no more.
Love to you,
Richard
