Daddy, Mommy says you are leaving-
you have to go away.
Is there anything I can do , Daddy,
to make you want to stay?
How can we function , how can
we be a family-
If you are gone away and not
here with me?
Oh Daddy , I will miss you...but
I just don't understand-
To live my day's without you Daddy,
I just don't think I can!
Who will read me a story - who
will tuck me in at night?
Who will chase away the monsters-
and turn on my nite light?
Daddy, was it something I done to
make you have to go?
Why does Mommy want you to leave?
Daddy , I want to know!
I hear you fighting from my room - and
it makes me cry-
You scream at each other , Daddy...it
makes me want to die.
Can't you work it out , Daddy, can't
you stay with me-
I want you to know how I'm hurting
inside..Daddy, can't you see?
You say it's for the best - that I'll
always be your little girl-
But Daddy, I want you here! You
are my whole world!
Put your clothes back in the closet- put
your suitcase under the bed-
You can't really leave me Daddy - Don't
listen to what Mommy said.
We are still a family, Please don't
just walk away-
My heart is breaking Daddy, please
listen to what I say.
I'll try to do better Daddy - I'll be so
good, you'll see-
If you won't leave Daddy - If you
will stay with me!
I don't ask much Daddy, just for
you to hold my hand-
Work it out with Mommy ..Oh
Daddy, I know you can!
Daddy - why are you hugging me-
why are you saying goodbye?
Daddy - why are you walking away-
Why are you making me cry..........
Sometimes we forget how the children feel in divorce or separation. Let's have empathy for them...not let them feel to blame. I speak for our children! They have a voice!

Hi Linda,
what a touching sad poem. You hit it right on the head, many kids think it's their fault.
The poor babies are so confused. A terrible subject but a profound write. Some things need to be said.
Well done. Gregg

Great linda ... i loved this write ... This really speaks how the childrens are lost ... how they lose the care from both mother and father ... Most childrens in this world dont get the love and care from both of then ... Some get mothers love and someother will have to comprise with their father's love .. why is this so ... why is divorce roaming in most of the family as a devil to eat childrens happiness and dreams ... Wish all childrens get the love and affection from the parents who gave them this life ...
This is really a beautiful wirte ... Keep it up ... Keep smiling and always keep be happy ...
courageous write! divorce is bad for anyone who experiences it, but it is always hardest on the dear, sweet little ones. absolutely loved this poem, and the picture goes along with it perfectly!! love, your friend, karen lynn. (((HUGS)))

Linda, This is excellent.
We have a family member going through this right now.
And, yes, it is the children that don't understand and think that that are to blame.
Thank you for writing and sharing this.
God Bless,
Bobby

Yes, Linda. So much meaning here. You are so good at expressing what goes on inside of others, and even inside of me. I wish I had your talent. Then I would know you. Bill Hugs
Courageous!! Heart-breaking!! Never goes away, does it, Linda? Never will. But because you are brave enough to write about it, someone will be helped. Brava!!!!

Children love to sink their teeth into sweet and delicious fruit. This story and teaching will have them sinking their hearts into the Fruit of the Spirit.
