Poem Artwork

Everyone should be warm
Not suffering from the cold
Can you offer them a blanket
A candle they can hold
No one should be hungry
Can you spare a fresh hot meal
Even thou they may be homeless
They can see, hear and feel

_______________________________

Children's laughter in the air
But so many feel only pain
No home to call their own
Children crying in the rain
We pass on by the sick
Hoping not to see their tears
Their pleas whispered by the wind
Seem to fall on deaf ears

________________________________

Can't we care a little more
Reach out a helping hand
They're not asking for the moon
Just someone to understand
What we just take for granted
Could make another person's day
Give a little of yourself
Is what I'm trying to say....

Thank you Linda we need to be reminded that our brothers and sisters and children are starving and homeless oot there! Ask ourselves what are we doing to help? And better yet what am I doing to help! We all can work at a shelter that doesn't cost any money or give someone a cup of soup, even buy them somethong to eat off of the dollar menu at Mcdonals if they say they are hungry. Always remember change starts with me! Peace!!!

Once was a slow flowing brook
Has become a raging flood. . . . .
So much
So many. . . . .
A penny
Plenty. . . . .
If we'll share
Beyond compare.

As humans, we tend to be wrapped up in ourselves overly much. You're right. We need to take a good look around and see what's really there. A thoughtful and kind message here, Linda. Love and Hugs,
Sheila

I love the gentle way in which you've painted a picture of the way things should be, but have talked straight, Helen, about the way the world really is. This fallen world needs a steady dose of truth and Christ. Keep giving it to us honest. I'm encouraged to do more by this excellent write. ~ ZB McClure

You are so rright and the sad part is most people how easily it can be to lose everything and be just like them. With the poor world economy, the massive layoffs and shut downs, the disease and world hunger...all we really have is each other and if those who have do not swallow their greed and reach out...God help us all!
