To The Children.............Dedicated to Children Suffering Child Abuse

Who could hurt our children...
tear their world apart?
Who could hurt our children...
and break their tiny heart?
Who could hit a little child...
leave bruises and tears?
Who could contaminate their
minds with terror and fears?

Who could look in big blue eyes
while hitting them in the face?
You really need someone to
put you in your place!
Who could curse a little child?
Does it make you a man?
I wish I could get inside your head.
make you understand.

A child is made to love and cherish...
to build up..not down.
A child is made to hold and kiss...
not to throw around.
Does it give you power to scare a
child that way?
To see a child cower in fear...does
it make your day?

I hope you open your eyes and see
the harm you have done...
These hurt little children...they
are too scared to run.
What gives you the right to steal
their self - esteem?
Take away their childhood... Steal
their happy dreams?

Who could look in big blue eyes ..
while hitting them in the face?
You really need someone to
put you in your place!

Once again you have hit the nail on the head Linda!
This is a poem not only for the children now but,
for those of us who went through this kind of abuse years ago.
Thank you for yet another great poem from your heart.

We are abusing the children when we pass more meaningless legislation and do not enforce the laws that are good ones and already on the books.

Linda, I always start out reading your 'child' poems, knowing I'll be wiping tears by the time I'm through. This was so exception. What a gift you have blessed with. Keep up the great work! Lisa
