Swing...keep swinging
Let the wind blow my hair
I don't wanna go home
No one there to care!
Swing ... keep swinging
Can't get off now
Never want to go home
No ones there anyhow
Daddy hit me last nite
Cried myself to sleep
Closed my eyes an prayed
The Lord my soul to keep
Mommys at the bar again
She pays me no mind
She brings men inside
The mean, bad kind
They look at me funny
I run and hide
I told my Mommy
But she said I lied.
Swing! Swing! Swing!
Can't go home..Don't make me
Fly me up in the clouds
Sit my spirit free
Let me just stay right here
Never go back home
No one there loves me
They won't know I'm gone....

Swing! Swing! Swing!

I will word this bluntly...ONE DAMN GOOD WRITE! This is so close to home that I now have tears in my eyes Linda! If my parents would/could have been even the friend that you have been to me over the last two years I would have had it made. Thank you for the friendship and the love you have shown to me over the last 2 years. It has been something that I never did get from my parents growing up. You are truly an angel sent from the heavens to me Linda..I love you darlin'! Ross

Sad, and a terrible amount of truth.

Well-written, Linda, engulfing the child inside of me as an adult...lonely, saddened child, swinging to the rhythym of self-love...

For some childhood is so sad, is it not ,Linda? You write so many beautiful poems capturing the sad aspects of childhood and your poems make me more aware of how blessed I was to have had angels not only as parents but my four grandparents too they all made childhood beautiful for me ,I only wish it was the same for everyone.Thank you for reminding us that there are so many out there suffering and I for one should be doing more to help them.Good reminder,thanks...Well done Linda!

Linda this is such a tragic story that occurs over and over again. How sad I am to read this. You have written a fanstastic poem and I love it, and you are always in my heart. Bill

It is scary to think that things like this go on in this world and you have so captured these emotions through this expression so well.
