Night will be here soon, shadows
gather around me
Guess I should go home but
Its so damn lonely
I get tired of rambling around in
That big house all alone
The wife died years ago and all
The kids are gone

Every days the same for me
Nothing changes here
I sit on this cold , hard bench
Wiping away a tear
Never knew that loneliness
Echoes so loud
I feel it eating me alive, even
In a crowd

Memories, thats all I have of
My kids and my wife
They meant EVERYTHING to
Me, my soul, my life
What I would give for just one
More tender touch
One more sweet smile from the
Lady I love so much

We used to sit out on the
Porch sipping iced tea
Kids playing on the swings
Making a memory
We danced in the rain
Loved every day
Now I sit here alone with
Nothing much to say

Every days the same for me
Nothing changes here
I sit on this cold, hard bench
Wiping away a tear......

Repost

Authors note: If you are fortunate enough to have your parents, please let them know you love them..visit them...take them places....ease some of their loneliness. I have lost both my parents...and I cannot bring back one day to tell them I love them. If your parents are alive, please give them a hug for me......

I loved this poem. I consider myself very lucky, I live with my dad and my daughter, so I get to say I love you to them every day, and I talk, or leave messages of "I love you," to both my sons almost every day.
