Faded rose
Now cold and unyielding
Losing its
Sweet fragrance
Its petals slowly
Dropping
As dreams blown
Away by the wind
Its stem bending
As if
In torment
Of living

Faded rose
Painful briars
Protecting
Its delicate beauty
Not allowing anyone
Inside
Red velvet holding
Precious nectar
Wilted and alone
It's mysteries
Go untouched
Unleashed

How alike we are..the faded rose and I

...The beauty of the rose should never be allowed to be undermined or hidden by the jealous, close-guarding briars that ever brood close by. Let her glory shine for the benefit of those who can appreciate her true value: Let Cinderella head the voice of the Prince, and not the Ugly Sisters, mindful of their own worthlessness! Don't allow your precious treasure to be wasted, valuable Rose! We are hungry for such beauty! KB

Your heart is ever blessing those around you with beauty and the fragrance of love.
May Spring bless you as you bless all of us, and may you see in the mirror the beautiful rose we all see.
Love,
John

Super write Linda, and I do have to agree with Jerry on this. Clip those thorns, and allow the beauty that is there to be held once again. Superb writing in every way.

Briars can be clipped, never to return. Clip them thar briars, Linda, me sweet! You'll see how the rose will again open its petals to the wonders of love.

Linda, unlike the faded rose .... your heart and love and life can bloom again into a fresh adventure and journey though love. Is it ever to late to start over? Capture life with someone who offers it without reservation. Bill

You are not a faded rose dear Linda! rose is beautiful, no doubt! But it has no heart! Your heart ever remains noble and loving!A rose one can hide, but a rose with loving mind is like sun that none can hide! Lovely write but the comparison pains me!
