I resolve not to resolve, it makes a fool of me.

For what I say that I will do, I know I won't, you see!

I could vow to lose some weight or scale the highest mount,

Until I eat that one last piece, more calories I do count.

The vows I place upon myself, I'm likely to concede

I swear never to defeat myself, on any New Year's Eve.

Instead I opt to try my best in all that I might do

And if I falter, if I fail, the reflections know I'm true .

Cause I know if I resolve and make a New Year's vow

I won't know the one I am, the one I know right now.

It's best that I just take each day and live it at my best,

Not worry 'bout that ten worse list or complain at what comes next.
