Grandma's Smile

A gentle nudge from my muse this morning.....thinking about my beautiful grandson "Max".....

I remember the colour of grandma’s eyes,
And the way she dressed – her style,
More than that, I’ll never forget
My grandma’s beautiful smile!
Always happy to see me,
Her face’d light up with joy!
She’d wrap me in a warm embrace
And call me her sweet little boy.
Even when I grew bigger than her,
And I became a man,
She made me feel like a child again,
As only a grandma can!
No one smiled more than grandma,
And it felt so good to me!
Her loving warmth soothed my soul,
And it always set me free!
Grandma is an angel now,
But then she always was!
And I still feel her presence here,
Even though she soars above!
Grandma’s smile - her legacy,
I carry around every day,
And I pass it along to everyone
Who happens to come my way!

Grandchildren are beautiful, they fill our hearts and grow in love. This is fantastic Annabel, We have 14 grandchildren and each one loves us so much and I pray they continue to.

Grandparents! Not the ones to scold, but to love. Grandparents! Arms open, loving, comforting. Grandparents, people that one can always go to when love needed. Very nice words that do bring back memories.

Okay. When I saw the pictures I'm thinking I've already read this poem, but I scroll down and saw that I hadn't commented on it. So I read it. Glad I did. Full of warmth and love for the grandma in Max's life. Well done.

Such an important bond, and heart-felt lovely poem.
I never knew either grandma at all, they were gone before I came along, so this is like a story book kind of relationship that happens to very lucky people!

not my kind of poetry, but this is si sweet, cocoa-in-the-evening before bedtime warm, touching and immaculate, that i don't want to use my scraps of poetic knowledge to analyse anything. i wish i could write something so spotlessly lovely, just once more, at least, like i could approx. 4-5 years ago.
